Summary: The Special Education Department currently leases a space in the Jordan Building at 485 Hillsdale Drive in order to provide an evaluation and service center for preschool (age 2–5) students with disabilities. The Jordan Building lease has been in place with the Virginia Institute of Autism since it was first approved by the School Board on March 10, 2022, and was renewed by the School Board for an additional 1-year term on March 14, 2024. The attached lease agreement is for approximately 1,302 SF of space for an additional 3 month term, which will end on June 30, 2025.
Funding: The rent is $1,994.83 per month. The funding is from the Department of Special Services Medicaid Revenue.
Recommendation: Receive the lease agreement for information. The lease agreement will be on the March 13th consent agenda for action. Staff recommends approval.
