Summary:
|
The Code of Virginia section 22.1-72 requires school boards to organize annually. The organizational meeting shall be held in January or July if the school board serves a county in which its members are elected. At the organizational meeting the school board will establish its regular meeting schedule. Policy BDA states that regular meetings of the Albemarle County School Board will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Additional School Board meetings may be scheduled throughout the year when necessary.
Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, except for June, July, August, November and December. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Albemarle County Office Building Auditorium unless otherwise noted on the agenda. Location and times of school board meetings may change and will be noticed as required by the Code of Virginia.
Attachment 1 is the proposed meeting schedule for 2025 and the organizational meeting date for January 2026.
Attachment 2 is the FY 2025/26 Proposed Budget Development Calendar.
