Summary: School Board Policy IIAA, Learning Resources/Textbook Selection and Adoption, states that the Board delegates the responsibility for the selection and use of learning resources to the professionally trained staff. The Superintendent, or designee, is responsible for the selection of learning resources for division-wide use.

This learning resource is intended to serve as a division-level approved web-based intervention program to support Middle School English Language Arts curriculum. Per School Board Policy IIAA, school and division-level staff have reviewed these materials and deemed them suited to the specific curricular goals with a focus on reading fluency, vocabulary development and reading comprehension and works to support ACPS curriculum at each grade level.

Upon the Board's receipt of this informational item, staff will proceed with conducting a 30 day public review of these materials. Staff will review all feedback received from the public during this review and make appropriate recommendations for action at the November 12, 015 School Board meeting.
Funding: These materials, if approved, will be available for purchase through existing textbook fund allocations.
Recommendation: Receive the informational item in order for staff to proceed with the public review period.
