Summary: The Board of Supervisors would like to pursue the installation of a wildflower meadow identified through the County’s Neighborhood Improvement Funding Initiative. The proposed site is in the vicinity of CATEC (please see area shaded in red on Enclosure 1). According to the County’s GIS database, this area is comprised of two parcels, one jointly owned by the County of Albemarle’s and the City of Charlottesville’s School Boards (parcel ID 06100-00-00-167B0) and the other by the City of Charlottesville (parcel ID 06100-00-00-16900), the remainder being in the state’s right-of-way. The County is in the process of establishing an agreement with the City allowing us to install and maintain the meadow on their property. They would like to do the same for the parcel jointly owned by the County of Albemarle’s and the City of Charlottesville’s School Boards. Enclosure 2 is a Right-of-Entry Letter to allow the County to establish and maintain the meadow.
Funding: No funding is required from the School Division
Recommendation: 10/11- Receive for information only
10/18 - Utilizing the Right of Entry Letter, grant the county permission to enter the Property to enable the installation and maintenance of a wildflower meadow by the County.
